Sons, Carl Sr. and Woody Sewell purchase the bankrupt Ford house in Odessa and sell half of their 22 vehicle inventory on opening day.
1941
New car production stops until 1946 across the country after entering WWII. The dealership survives through service and pre-owned car sales.
1966
Sewell Ford Lincoln relocates to its second home on 2425 Eth 8th Street in Odessa, Texas.
1980
Sewell shows resilience as the country endures one of the worst economic recessions in recent history.
2010
Sewell expanded in Andrews with the Chevrolet GMC store in July 2010 serving the community and surroundings. Sewell start conquering Andrews and actively keeps finding ways to expand their business.
2013
Parks Legado Town Center opens and is named for the legacy of the Parks Family, early West Texas pioneers who once owned the land. It is the beginning of Sewell’s plan to develop East Odessa.
2017
Sewell enters the Midland area with the acquisition of the BMW of the Permian Basin off Highway 191. Sewell is proud to bring over 100 years of service to Midland and the BMW brand.
2018
Sewell Ford Lincoln relocates to Parks Legado, its third home since 1935, their state of the art campus showcases the largest Ford and Lincoln service center between Phoenix and Fort Worth. The new dealership is complete with Press Cafe and
E.F. Outfitters.

Sewell extends once again into Midland with the acquisition of the Cadillac Buick GMC store off of Wall Street. Sewell is proud to add the prestigious Cadillac name to its lineup of vehicles.
2020
Sewell acquires the Odessa Cadillac store, becoming the exclusive Cadillac dealer to the Permian Basin.
2021
Sewell announced 4 new ways to serve West Texans’ automotive needs and acquires the Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM store in Andrews, TX. Sewell now serves West Texans with 11 automotive brands.
2026
We are thrilled to announce the development of the new Sewell Midland campus, marking an exciting milestone in 110+ year legacy of service. The new Midland campus will feature three premier dealerships—Cadillac, Buick, GMC, and BMW with state-of the art sales and service centers.
